The player plays as a guide dog and the objective is for the player to lead the dog’s blind owner through a bustling city. To guide the blind man the dog can push him as he walks, the dog can also bark to signal the blind man to stop for a brief period and the dog can also pull the blind man for short distances. Both the pulling mechanic and the stopping mechanic had “cool down” periods after each use to hinder the player from using them on repeat.
My Roles and Responsibilities:
Game Designer
My team worked together to design a game based on trust; the trust between a blind man and his guide dog. We wanted the player to feel responsible for the dog's owner and his well-being.
Level Design
I designed this level using a limited amount of mechanics; horizontally or vertically moving objects and colliders. With these mechanics I tried to create an as varied level as possible that keeps introducing new problems for the player to solve when steering the bling man through the city.
2D Graphics Artist
For this project I created the majority of the environment art.
